This is a prime example of my photography experience influencing my paintings. In photography, the light in the scene is key to the image's success. This painting shows how an ordinary city scene of street and townhomes can be amazing with the evening sun hitting them just right. I used a light airy touch in the sky and tree, and a heavier paint on the street, playing cool and warm colors against each other.
